Mobile mapping equipment is designed to capture 3D data while in motion, eliminating the need for the static tripod setups used in traditional surveying. These systems integrate high-speed LiDAR, 360° cameras, and sophisticated positioning sensors to create "digital twins" of large-scale environments at roughly 10x the speed of stationary scanners.

Navvis VLX 3

  • Industry-Leading Data Accuracy: While many SLAM (mobile) scanners struggle with precision, the VLX 3 features dual 32-layer LiDAR sensors. This allows it to achieve a high degree of accuracy (often within 5–10mm in typical indoor environments), making it one of the few mobile scanners trusted for detailed Scan-to-BIM projects.
  • Superior 360° Imagery: It is equipped with four 20MP cameras positioned to capture a complete, high-resolution panoramic view. This creates incredibly crisp, "Google Street View" style walkthroughs that are far superior to the grainy imagery found on handheld competitors.
  • Hybrid Scanning (Static + Mobile): The VLX 3 can perform "stationary" captures in areas that require extra detail. By standing still for a few seconds, the system increases point density in that specific spot, mimicking a tripod scanner's results.

  • Extreme Portability & Design: It is the smallest and lightest professional SLAM scanner on the market. Weighing only 1.7 lbs (775 grams), it fits into a small case and can be carried all day without fatigue. Its sleek, "torch-like" design allows you to reach into tight spaces where larger equipment won't fit.
  • GrandSLAM Technology: It combines high-speed dual-axis LiDAR with a multi-camera vision system and an IMU. This allows it to "see" where it is and track its path through complex spaces with minimal user input.
  • 12-Megapixel Detail Camera: In addition to the three panoramic cameras used for navigation and colorization, it features a dedicated 12MP "detail" camera. While walking, you can pull a trigger to snap high-resolution photos of specific assets (like serial numbers or structural cracks) that are instantly georeferenced within the 3D map.
  • High-Speed Workflow: You can map a standard 2,000 sq. ft. space in less than two minutes simply by walking through it. This makes it the fastest way to get a "rough-in" 3D layout for space planning or facility management.
  • Wireless Operation: The device is completely cable-free and operates via a rechargeable battery. You control and monitor the scan in real-time through the BLK2GO Live app on an iPhone or iPad.
  • Aesthetic Integration: Because it looks less like "heavy machinery" and more like a high-tech gadget, it is less intimidating to use in active retail environments, hospitals, or occupied offices.
